I’m a pearl

In this ocean of life.

Submerged deep

Millennia’s worth of sand

Layer upon layer cast over me

But I bear it, I bear it all.

The sea never realizes

My worth and keeps moving on.

The fish looking upon me;

Never really look upon me,

Only the crust in which I’m

Only this barrier:

both my shield and despair.

Only the divine hands

Which will pull me out

see the real treasure.

Only then I guess will

the sea truly realize

My worth: For I’m a pearl,

In this ocean of life.
